This Gem-Mint 1880 San Francisco Morgan dollar is graded MS65 by PCGS and offers exceptional retained luster and magnificent eye appeal. The reverse of this example shows the largest "S" mint mark die variaton ever used on Morgan dollars by the San Francisco mint, which only appeard on some Morgan dollars struck in the year 1880. The exact number of coins made with this die variation is unknown, and was never used again after 1880 making it sought after by many collectors.
