This attractive 1880 San Francisco Morgan Dollar has a mirrored or prooflike obverse with above average eye appeal and slight cameo.The reverse of this example shows the largest "S" mint mark die variaton ever used on Morgan dollars by the San Francisco mint, which only appeard on some Morgan dollars struck in the year 1880. The exact number of coins made with this die variation is unknown, and was never used again after 1880 making it sought after by many collectors.  It is graded MS64 by PCGS and is well struck with sharp detail - a beautiful example!
